KEG FAQs

This is the space where we shed some light on the questions we get asked regularly about what we do.

I'm lost how do I find your warehouse?

Highett, Victoria - enter the driveway where you can see the DBRE building. Approx 100m down the driveway you will see unit 4 on the left.

Taren Point, New South Wales - find number 38 Alexander Avenue, enter the driveway and continue to you find unit 1B on your right.

Robina, Queensland - at 265 Scottsdale Road Robina you'll find Storage King Robina, see the staff at reception.

Can I order a keg for this week?

If it's Monday yes please go ahead and place your order via our website. Everything will be available.

If it's Tuesday-Friday you can order for warehouse collection using the 'Same Day' categories on our website.

Are you open weekends?

We are not open on the weekend or public holidays. We're open Monday - Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm.

Do you collect / take back empty kegs?

We sure do, we take back empty kegs that were purchased from us. If you have purchased kegs from another supplier you will need to contact that company to return their kegs.

Can you source a keg that's not listed on our website?

We can sure try! Keep in mind not all products are brewed in a keg i.e Corona. Submit an enquiry on our contact us page and our team will get back to you.

Do you sell kegs in other sizes?

We only sell the sizes listed on our website as this is the only size the breweries produce commercial kegs in. If you've found the product in a different format from another supplier chances are they've decanted the beer from a larger size, we & the manufacturers of the original product don't approve/recommend this.

What is a coupler?

A coupler is a fitting that attaches to the top of the keg, so that you can pump gas in and pump beer out! Different breweries use different kegs; different kegs use different couplers. If you're hiring kegs and equipment from us, don't worry, we'll make sure you get what you need! If you're supplying your own, have a chat to our Event Sales Team who'll let you know exactly what you need.

What coupler type does a particular keg take?

Every keg on our website has the coupler type listed in the description.

Do you fill kegs?

We don't unfortunately fill kegs, we buy the beer already kegged from commercially licensed breweries, there are some suppliers that provide fake versions of well known beers and will fill kegs but it's not as good as the real thing!

Will the keg fit in my kegerator?

Check out the measurements of all the kegs we sell here.

How much notice do you need?

We hold a great range of the popular beers and ciders in stock however some kegs do need to be ordered in. 7 days notice is recommended.

Why do you charge a Same Day Handling Fee?

We understand how important it is to get your order as quickly as possible. To ensure we can prepare and have your items ready for short notice collection, a small handling fee is added to your order. This allows us to provide the fastest service and have your items ready when you need them. Thank you for choosing us!

How long does a keg last?

Kegs last 6-9 months past the best before, breweries usually provide kegs with 2-3 months before the best before so there is plenty of time to get through a keg.

How do I get the product out of the keg?

If you don't have your own dispensing equipment, then you can rent one of our single-tap beer dispensing units to tap your keg and chill your beer/cider as it pours. If you're looking to pour multiple kegs, or prefer a full bar set up, our bars for hire can be viewed here.

How many beers do I get out of a keg?

Heaps!  A 50 litre keg gives you about 175 pots  or 118 schooners (175 x 285ml or 118 x 425ml glasses).

Can I keep the keg?

The keg itself always remains property of the brewery that it came from, so essentially you're just buying the product, there are charges for kegs that are not returned.

How long do I keep the keg?

Kegs with our bars or beer dispensing units:
Our drivers will pick your keg up along with the equipment the day after your event.  If your event is on a Saturday we'll see you Monday!

Kegs for your own kegerator:

You can keep the keg until its empty, when you place a new order, we'll drop off the new keg and pick up the empty one.

How many commercial kegs can I fit in my own kegerator?

Most kegerators will only fit one 50L keg in the fridge at a time, there are a few breweries that produce smaller kegs but they are still all different sizes and you may be able to fit more than one. Please call our team to discuss which kegs will fit best.

Do I need something to put my beer dispensing unit on?

Yep, you'll need a table.  If you don't have one don't forget to add one of our trestles to your order.  We'll deliver it with your unit, set it up, put a fancy cover on it so it looks schmick and then you're good to go.

What do I get with my beer system?
  • a beer dispensing unit and ice to keep your keg flowing cold
  • all lines, fittings, and a tap
  • a gas bottle to keep your keg flowing until its empty
  • a bag of ice to get you started

What about wastage?

Do I need to pay a bond?

No, we don't take a bond we just ask you to complete a credit card authority on deliver of your equipment.  We'll only use this authority if equipment is lost, not returned, or damage - but we'll talk to you about this when and if it occurs.

How much notice do we need?
